About the Event

Over time, people on a dementia journey may experience differing perceptions of the world, which can be difficult for others to understand. To remain connected with them as they journey further into dementia (whether caused by Alzheimer’s disease, or by other conditions) we must learn to accept changes, and seek to understand how best to navigate the challenges they bring for the person and for ourselves.

Workshop Cost includes Vegan Lunch: Euro 95

Faciltator: Sheena Cunnington (RGN, RMA, MSc (Hons) Dementia, PGDip Coaching)

Sheena is a Registered Nurse, specialist in dementia and aged care for more than 30 years. With a background in leading dementia-specific residential services, she develops and delivers awareness workshops for healthcare professionals, families and carers. The ultimate aim of these is to enhance quality of life for those living with, and alongside dementia, through fostering understanding, compassion and connection. Sheena believes that families, carers and communities can help create an environment where a person can live well with dementia, and that the need and potential for shared human connection are never lost.
